H-2A certification fees to be suspended during payment revamp

A temporary suspension of collection of H-2A certification fees will take effect Sept. 2. Learn why the fees are being suspended.

A temporary suspension of collection of H-2A certification fees will take effect Sept. 2 to allow for a transition an electronic payment system.

In a Federal Register notice, the Employment and Training Administration informed stakeholders that the Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) will be suspending the collection of fees for an unspecified period to allow for transition from a paper format to an electronic process.

Employers who receive an invoice from OFLC must still pay all required H-2A certification fees, according to the notice. During the suspension period, OFLC will not issue invoices for certification fees for H-2A applications for temporary certifications that are certified, and will not seek retroactive payment of fees for those certifications.

OFLC will announce the resumption of fees via Federal Register notice.
